First Vogue Paris Cover By Emmanuelle Alt

Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt first issue has been released. Emmanuelle Alt was seen in Fashion Weeks looking rock chic fabulous, hopefully Vogue Paris will be the same. Replacing Carine Roitfeld won't be easy, but I'm sure Emmanuelle will bring a different flavour to Vogue.
If we weren't envious of model Gisele before we are now, as she poses on the cover of Vogue Paris looking innocent and angelic in white lace by Dolce & Gabbana.
Can't wait to see the rest....

In or Out: Scarlett Johansson

Oh, Miss Scarlet!

Scarlett Johansson attends the "A View From The Bridge" Broadway opening night at the Cort Theatre in New York in Dolce & Gabbana.

Y'know, there are two cliches that all bitchy fashion commentators fall back on and we've been trying to wean ourselves from making them anymore. They're both pop culture references that immediately put a strong image in the reader's mind, and once you've accomplished that, you really don't need to make any further fashion-related comments.

Well, we have to hand it to Scarlett here. She's allowing us to use the same tired old joke, but with a fresh spin on it. You see, it's very easy for a bitchy fashion commentator to fall back on the "Dorothy Zbornak" or "Blanche Devereaux" jokes when they're warranted, but it's a rare opportunity for us to pull out a Rose Nylund reference. Well done, Scarlett. You've just handed the bitchy fashion commentator community a new joke on a platter.

Oh, and congratulations for whatever occasion you're at that required you to put on your best dress. Some sort of lifetime achievement award, perhaps? Or maybe a celebration of your 50 years in show business? Whatever it is, it's nice to see an old gal like you still has a great set of gams.

Dolce & Gabbana Menswear Fall 2010

Be Italian Sicilian.

Hello!

Darlings, Domenico and Stefano got their Sicilian on for their menswear show in Milan.

"
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said they were inspired by "Baaria," a big-budget, sentimental sweep through 20th century Sicily -- also Dolce's birthplace -- taking in fascism, war, communism and the Mafia.

They presented a mainly black, white and grey line, sending out models wearing knits over trousers that narrowed at the bottom, against a screen backdrop showing scenes of "Baaria."

Vests were tucked into black washed-out jeans or long-john type trousers and shorts. White shirts were sleek and tucked into jeans or black trousers. They accessorized the look with black caps and boots."

That's a somewhat dry description of what turned out to be a collection of luxurious pieces with a sensual, masculine, classically Sicilian feel; an ode to sartorialism and the love of well made, classic clothing.

In addition, it was rather beautifully staged, as men walked out quickly, in groups and presented themselves, as if at a union meeting or political rally. It's not always easy to stage menswear shows without making the models look like a bunch of preening peacocks, so any time someone figures out a way to present the clothes while at the same time making the models look, shall we say, traditionally masculine, we tend to appreciate it. And it helps sell the hell out of clothes. God knows it worked on us.

And hot DAMN.

Do those two queens know how to cast a menswear show or what?

Gorgeous clothes on gorgeous men. Amen. We'll take two of each.

Watch the video to get the full effect. It'll make your bits tingle.
