Congratulations!

We're feeling blue, darlings.

We're not going to mince words here. Shocking, we know.

This was, without a doubt, in a season full of lame challenges, the LAMEST GODDAMN CHALLENGE in the history of the show. "Design something for a department store. The twist? It has to be BLUE!!!!!!!" What the hell, Bunim/Murray? Is it really that hard to come up with interesting challenges? Because we're seven episodes into the new regime and they haven't managed it yet. We look forward to future challenges, like "Design something nice for a nice person. The twist? The person's not so nice!" Or "Design something pretty for a celebrity. The twist? The celebrity's not that famous!!!" Or "Design something pretty and stylish. The twist? Not TOO pretty or stylish!!!!"

And what kills us is they acted like having to use the color blue was so difficult or something. Blue is like the most common color you'll see when you walk on the floor of every department store. It's a color that pretty much nobody looks bad in. If you're going to base an entire challenge around a color, they could have at least picked an uncommon one, like puce or chartreuse or something like that.

We're thisclose to writing off the season. We're not worried about the future of the show. This season has the stress of the Weinstein/Bravo lawsuit all over it and we have a feeling that most of the problems come down to the fact that everyone involved at the time of the taping was walking around in a haze, unsure of what to do. That lack of assuredness fairly permeates the whole season. We're willing to wait until season 7 to declare our judgment on the Bunim/Murray/Lifetime regime.

Feh. We don't even feel like talking about the results of the challenge, but if we must...

Congrats! Irina was bitchy and Gordana was too passive! This counts as DRAMA in the current world of Project Runway, where BLUE is seen as a major hurdle to overcome.

Whatever. You have to figure they had hours upon hours of footage and the best they could come up with was Irina complaining that Gordana's not asserting herself and Gordana complaining that she's stressed out. Puh-leeze. Give us the days of Jeffrey and Angela over this.

Model: Katie Sticksel

Pretty. That makes it a WINNER!!!!!!!!

Sorry, we just can't get worked up over this one. It has nothing to do with the dress and everything to do with the lameosity of the challenge.

Yeah, she did all that color blocking herself. Yay.

No, seriously. Good job, Irina. You managed to make a perfectly serviceable department store dress.

Model: Matar Cohen

A blouse and skirt! WOW!!! And they're both BLUE!!!!

Yawn.
Yawn.

Sorry, kittens. We just can't. It's not the fault of the designers; it's the fault of the producers. We actually still really like the cast this season. We think they're all full of personality and very talented, but the point of this show is to put them through their paces and this challenge could not have been any easier for them or resulted in anything but bland results. That's why the judges overpraised these two very basic looks and over criticized other looks that weren't nearly as bad as they made them sound.

Oh, right. The Irina bitchery. Whatever. Yeah, throwing your team mate under the bus for making something bland, when you made something only slightly less bland and when you're in line for the win was pretty bitchy of her. We can't even work up any excitement over that minor bit of drama.

They really should have just shut down production until the lawsuit was settled.

In other news, here's Irina's dress for Macy's:
It's cute. Nothing earth-shattering, but then, why would it be? You can go here and sign up to be alerted as to when the dress is available.
