Prada Ditches Models For Illustration For Sunglasses Ad

Prada has ditched models for some cartoon illustrations of eagles, dogs and women for their Spring/Summer 2011 sunglasses collection.

Illustrators Ivo Bisignano, Marcela Gutierrez, and Andrea Tarella have created playful art work- 'fashion meets art', which Prada couldn't resist but to have for their campaign for the limited edition 'Minimal-Baroque' sunglasses collection.

Seeing cartoons wearing sunglasses looking all colourful, is nice a break from seeing perfect models. Love how Fashion has no boundaries...

Oh How Summery!

I love summery days in spring, where the sun shines in the afternoon and it feels like it's the middle of a British summer.
So I put on my gorgeous new maxi dress, and took some outfit photos OUTSIDE! (it was a special occasion!)

FINALLY, A NICE PRIMARK TOP.

Okay, so personally I'm not a Primark fan. I love my New Look and Topshop and various online stores. My friends always say how they never seem to find anything nice in their, and that it's all either really cheap and tacky. Or decent and overpriced. So when me and my best friend went in our local store to get some tights, I came across this top. I fell in love...

It's like lace and crochet together, and looks lovely with a white top underneath, and my white top here in the photo is from Topshop!

Skinny boys in gorgeous coats.

Fashion Wire Daily says:

"The collection actually recalled many of the ideas Miuccia Prada played with in the '90s – experimenting with '60s prints or using faintly absurd details because they jokingly referenced conventional middle class trends. A series of her coats had thick, ribbed wool collars, the sort a provincial chemist would think was hip on a car coat.

"I can buy any expensive material I want, but am also always attracted to trashy touches," said Prada backstage. "It’s the meeting of the two I like. It offers something new. Never grow old with your customer, I say.”

Though at times deceptively simple in terms of neat short jacket cuts, classical proportions of pants and lapels and understated color palette of khakis and anthracite, this was a path-breaking collection.

Best of all was the sense of brainy beauty. Clever yet cool kids didn't need to flaunt their good looks thanks to the sheer quirky quality of clothes. Languidly cut men’s suits in Sergeant Pepper’s Pop art colors, or lurex-like skinny knits in rose and violet or short chauffeur’s jackets with massive cartoon-like buttons all felt right. And you had to love the bright hued camouflage print trench-coats for the men and women, which will be huge hits and copied all the way from Sydney to Shanghai. Added to that the quirky fabrics, like by a plasticized jersey that was both futurist yet somehow retro, and you got a show hitting lots of high notes."

T Lo says: Blahblahblah. We just want those coats. ALL OF THEM. We'll take the sweaters too, but only some of those. The scoop neckline might work on your skinny 14-year-old model but we suspect it's not gonna fly on our manly-man chests.
